What are the signs of being psychic?
If you have a latent psychic ability, it will reveal itself through the Sixth Sense. A sixth sense includes aspects of what the parapsychologist J. B. Rhine called Extra Sensory Perception (Usually abridged to “ESP” and sometimes called "psi," after the Greek letter. Psi, psychic, and psychical are synonyms for extrasensory perception.)

The signs of being psychic are what is colloquially called the Sixth Sense. The proper name for these abilities is 'Extra Sensory Perception'. Extrasensory Perception (ESP) is the ability to acquire information without the benefit of the senses.
ESP (The Sixth Sense) falls into four general categories:
- Telepathy is mind-to-mind communication or a person's awareness of another's thoughts without any communication through everyday perceptions.
- Clairvoyance is knowledge acquired of an object or event without the use of the known senses.
- Precognition -- foresight a person may have of another person's future thoughts or of future events.
- Psychokinesis (PK) is mind over matter or a person's ability to influence a physical object or an event by thinking about it. For example, ‘spoon bending’. Some parapsychologists consider that psychokinesis is not strictly extra-sensory "Perception".
If you exhibit any of the above, you may show signs of psychic ability.
Testing your Sixth Sense
One of the best ways to test ESP and your sixth sense for yourself is by studying your dreams. You have dreams every night, so there is a tremendous amount of material for you to work with. Once you learn to remember dreams and write them down every morning, you will soon identify a few extraordinary dreams. They may reveal information that you could not have possibly known except by paranormal means.
Awakening the Sixth Sense
Many parapsychologists use Zener cards to test ESP ability. There are five kinds of cards: a star, three vertical wavy lines, a plus sign, a circle, and a square. A deck of Zener cards consists of five of each symbol. In ESP tests for clairvoyance or precognition, the cards might be shuffled, and the subject then tries to guess the order of the cards. Or a sender might look at a card and then try to communicate the perception to a receiver telepathically.
Packs of Zener cards are available in the shops so you can try a few experiments. Try setting up a few experiments with your friends. One of you can select a card and place it under your pillow before retiring, while the other attempts to guess the card in the morning. A dream may reveal the card, but as your intuition works overtime as you sleep, you may be more likely to guess the card correctly when you wake up in the morning. You would need to experiment over many nights to ensure that your results are above chance.
There are twenty-five cards in the Zener deck and five kinds of cards, so there is a one in five chance (or 20% chance) that the sender has selected any given card. A correct "guess" is called a "hit". In the long run, anything significantly higher than 20% hits would indicate that something other than chance is at work.
