Can the future be predicted?

If you look around
the site and watch the movies you will see that Jane and
I have often been asked to make predictions and have had
many remarkable hits. Similarly many of the helpers on this
site have done the same. So why is it we don't allow everyone
to make predictions in the chatrooms?
Our main worry
is that someone may get hurt. If you make a prediction to
someone you wield a huge power. Even if you know that the
person is a fake the prediction may still worry you. They
have a similar power to superstition- we don't believe them
but in the back of our mind something says "
..
but what if it is true?" In this way we are disempowered
by our worries and may even cause bad things to happen to
us out of shear fright!!!!
I have seen many
people badly misguided by frightening predictions even though
the 'psychic'
was well meaning. Predictions about money, health and relationships
may lead to feelings of fear of what will happen and disappointment
when things do not work out as forecast.
So what should
a psychic be doing when a person comes to them for advice?
Can the future be predicted? Our role has to be to guide a person and help them to make
the best decisions to bring good fortune into their lives.
We are like the map-reader. We see the lie of the land and
from this we give advice about the best thing to do. We
do not say what will happen but what the person can do to
make the best choices.
Certainly there
may be a high likelihood of certain things happening. We
may also see unexpected events and opportunities too but
in the final analysis you have free will and can choose
your path. "There is no fate!" as Sarah Conner
said in Terminator Two staring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
A good psychic
may have insight into the cosmic map and from this will
give advice about how to shape the future.

PREMONITIONS
AND PREDICTIONS
Can the future be predicted?
~By
Vi Kilpling (T+Sibyl)
A prediction
is not always a premonition as there is, in fact, a difference.
Premonitions are usually a prediction of a 'doom and gloom'
nature - catastrophe and calamity.
It is said by
Spirit Guides that every person is making their own future
by past and present actions and it is, therefore, possible
for a future to be predicted. Unfortunately that prediction
will not always happen as every individual has free will
and can change his/her mind and where the future was leading
down Road A, it is now travelling down Road B, which could
then be changed again, with the perversity of human nature,
and become Road C.
Every person
is psychic to some degree and there are times in people's
lives when the energies and conditions surrounding them,
enable them to enter an altered state of awareness and become
aware of disasters and events which are building to a point
of climatic culmination. An earthquake reaching eruption
point is a prime example of this. These events do come to
pass and so it can be seen that it is possible to have a
premonition which will come true.
To predict a
person's future, however, is a different matter totally.
Mediums
are not allowed to predict the future and Psychics who do
so run the risk of feeding back to the sitter information
picked up from the aura
and which is usually the outcome the sitters wish for the
problem posed to the Psychic. In other words, the sitter
desperately wants to re-marry or receive a lot of money,
and this desire is, of course, exhibited in the auric energy
field which surrounds every individual's body and which
is a reflection of that person's thoughts, feelings, emotions
etc. So the Psychic tells them what they want to hear which
is not a good policy. It takes a very experienced Psychic
to override the demands being made by the sitters and presenting
to them a balanced view of their personality and any outcome
to problems being experienced.
It must be remembered
that sitters DO NOT wish to know their future, or have it
predicted - that future could be a very sad future and nobody
wants to hear that; they want to be told that everything
is going to work out they way they wish and to go down this
road would be dishonest.
This is one of
the reasons this Site does not allow Readers to predict
but does have a Premonitions Board where people who have
tuned into natural (or unnatural disasters) may post these
predictions which can then be verified or not, as the case
may be. The Society for Psychical Research is always seeking
to speak with people who are able to make predictions with
a great degree of accuracy and such a Board will monitor
the accuracy and details of such predictions.
It is important,
therefore, that all predictions are kept for the Predictions
Board and kept out of the Reading Rooms.
