Q: Can Animals Take Human Birth?

Metempsychosis is a theory dating from before the ancient Greeks that says that every living thing reincarnates. In the course of time the animal becomes man. It is interesting to note that the human population is increasing while the animal population is decreasing. Perhaps these animal souls are all becoming human? 

The Tibetan Buddhists emphasise how important and rare it is to have a 'precious human birth'- we live for eons of time in animal form and a human birth, with its chance to attain enlightenment, is a tremendous opportunity.  I personally find it fascinating to watch people's behaviour and observe their animal characteristics. Some people pout like fish, slink like cats or charge ahead like bulls. How many people do you know that chatter like birds, eat like pigs or behave like rats?
