Should mediums use THE OUIJA BOARD

From what I've seen Ouija Boards are nothing but trouble for most people. On our website you can read articles about people who've had problems with them. For example see:

Have you had a good or bad experience with Ouija Board? I have used them in my circle to no ill effect but it is not a method of spirit contact I'd recommend to people who are not trained mediums.

Tell us about your encounters with Ouija Boards.

I dont believe in the use of ouija boards, so many interference factors are involved.

Now if the glass or whichever pointing device is used moves on its own without fingertips then I will be impressed ^^, but for now I dont believe in it

The best mediums have no need for a ouija board and anything less than that level of mediumship should not use something which has proved to be dangerous.

I once had a go on a ouija board when I was about 15year old.

I had heard stories from friends at the time about there being bad things that could happen but kids being kids I didn't know if they was true... of course not until one night in a pub with my parents the regulars who remained in the pub decided to do a ouija board but it was one with the cards (A to Z and yes and no). Anyway there was four of us a women and a guy we knew and my mum and myself. We did get through to good spirits... the guy got intouch with his granmother and my grandad came through and the questions my mum asked all came back true and even I didn't know answers to.

I would use a ouija board again if I was sure to get through to good spirits and everything to be fine, but as we know that isn't always the case, so I'll be staying clear from now on and just pay visits to the local spiritual church.

Just wanted to share some thoughts. I got a board one year for my birthday in the 1970's, when I was about 10. I used it all the time by myself. The planchette really did move on its own, although I know that I can't prove it in any way. I don't recall having any scary things happen but I think I threw the board away after I went to a religious service and learned that evil, bad things could happen. Now I wish I had the board back, because vintage boards can sell for a few $ on e-bay (lol). I don't know how a wooden board made by a game company could be a link to the other side, but I guess if you want it to be, it is, and I know that people can become very frightened after using it, so I am not poking fun at anyone.

I don't think it is wise to use the Ouija Board or the 'Talking Board' no matter how skilled you are. It's an open invitation for evil spirits and why would people with mediumship even NEED to use it when they can contact with the dead? The talking board can become abusive and lead to demonic possesion. All the people who have studied it intensly have recommended (sorry if I spelt it wrong) people to STAY AWAY from it for the same reasons. It is dangerous on a mental and physical level. Beware of the Ouija Board. If you do use it, I think they say put a silver coin on the board and never let the spirits go through the alphabet/numbers and flip the board over if it goes to the four corners!

IS the Ouija Board Evil- No, but the things that it may bring can be.

You are more likely to attract mischievious spirits who take advantage of your ignorance and then your own fear builds an energy which is not nice

It is ignorance which is the attraction not the board. Just dont sit for spirit until you know what you are doing or are sat with a competent leader

I went to a boarding Acadamy and a old storie of a board in the old dorm building witch was class rooms now and in the 80's when I was there they demo the building down I saw some of are teachers in the rubish looking for it, after that things started to happen on the floor were I lived i think it transported it self to that girls dorm, lets just say Iv herd alot of stories even after I left that school that is still happening.
I belive that it is a port for bad spirits and they like to trick you so you will play, also Iv herd never use it ever by yourself.

Yes, at first it is ignorance. However, the true 'addiction' comes after the board becomes abussive and when possesion has taken place. As for your own ignorance developing a 'negative energy' somewhat true. But, spirits can be evil... you can be the most un-fearful person and still have a bad spirit come through the board.

I am not going to dismiss you off the bat J-Lynn coz I am not one of these people who believe all spirits are loving beautiful beings, ... I tend to think people are people both here and in the spirit world, so whilst the majority can fit this lovely category, just as on this planet, some just have a stretch to go before that term could apply. I can't say I have ever heard a verifiably credible account tho of a spirit being abusive, ... and further can't understand (if such things did go on) why anyone would indulge letting someone abuse them dead or alive.

Nor have I heard of anyone being 'addicted' to a ouija board, ... fascinated with the thought of spirit communication giving them impetus to want to use one maybe - but that's about it.

Further, I think the use of the term possession should be used with caution because many people think possession is some spirit entering and taking over people's bodies and that just does not happens. Spirit having physical influence over a person's body is achieved by a co-operative blending of minds (not taking over bodies) and only with an acceptance on the part of the person involved to allow it. I think what you are referring to would fall under the category of obsession. A mind link. Not forgetting, just the fact that they are putting out an open invite says they are in fact of the mindset to allow that link. Ignorance could exaccerbate it, by them simply not saying/thinking they won't allow it (when they think better of it) coz they don't know they have a choice. However, having some sensible knowledge about how people are in control with a simple thought rather than an unfounded notion something is in them (that they probably think they can't get out) would go a long way to preventing people thinking they are helpless victims who can't just pull the pin.

.... and if you think 'evil' spirits can come to the most un-fearful people, then surely they should not be afraid to tell them to get on their bike and take a hike.

I believe that you believe you are saying such things thinking you are helping people, from my perspective tho, these are harmful and dis-empowering concepts you have and are putting out there. I would prefer it if people just left ouija boards alone, but since they don't, I think it important that people hear another side to such notions.

I can't tell you how many lives have been hurt because of this board... and I want to keep the people's identities sealed.

I have never tried it myself, but I have heard both pros and cons, I think it is the users intention and mental state that has the most influence on the outcome, but I generally wouldn't recommend it.
