Story of the psychiatrist who encounters a ghost during an investigation with Spiritualist Medium Craig Hamilton-Parker
The people who approach Jane and I come from all walks of life. We've seen doctors, solicitors, businessmen, and even a high court judge. But when a psychiatrist telephoned and asked for assistance I was very surprised- normally they reject mediums out of hand.
Warminster based psychiatrist, Dr Medway, contact me and asked if I could visit her patient's home to find out if it really was haunted. "The lady involved is convinced that she is under a ghostly attack." said the psychiatrist "She insists that a poltergeist is throwing things around the room and that a shadowy man is trying to attack her."
We visited the house together hoping to convince the lady that there was nothing to worry about. But when we stepped into the living room we all saw a strange white mist that clung to the floor. "Did you see that?" gulped the psychiatrist. Her face went as white as a sheet. It was clear that we were dealing with something real after all.
The lady showed me around the house and I sat and meditated at the places where she said the manifestations were strongest. I described a bearded man who was troubling her. The description fitted what she had been seeing.
The spirit told me that he was a gypsy and that he was buried nearby. I talked to him calmly and after a long and difficult inner debate he agreed to go. The psychiatrist looked as relieved as everyone else.
When the records were checked it was found that gypsies had camped extensively in that area many years ago. They had no formal cemetery but it was believed that they buried their dead in the vicinity of the house in the woods that had once covered the estate.
