Believed he was guided by a famous ghost. |
| Famous pop
megastar Michael Jackson claimed that he inwardly communicates with the flamboyant,
pianist Lee Liberace who
died in 1987.
"I
have my own secret room, with a moving wall and mirrors" said Jackson,
"that's where I talk to Lee. His is the voice I hear in there. I feel his
presence so very close to me." He added that Liberace "is like my
guardian angel. He's even given me permission to record his theme song 'I'll
Be seeing You'." |

John Lennon
Predicted his own death |
John Lennon once
said "Spiritualism should interest everyone." John attended many séance
during his lifetime- an interest still continued by his widow, Yoko, who practices
the teachings of psychic Edgar Cayce.
It is believed that
John had premonitions that he would be shot. He even stated that his fear of
murder caused the Beatles to break up. "We were not bored," he said
"and certainly did not run out of songs. I was paranoid about somebody
trying to bump us off." When he heard that the Beatle's former road manager
had been shot dead by Los Angeles police, he said over and over again, "I'm
next, I know it."
But John believed
firmly in an afterlife. "I am an optimist about eternity. I believe in
heaven. I believe that death is not an end but a beginning." |

Paul McCartney
Saw the Ghost of John Lennon |

"There were a lot of strange goings-on in the studio - noises that shouldn't have been there and equipment doing all manner of weird things. There was just an overall feeling that John was around." |

Jack Lemmon
Ghost plays a practical joke |
|
Superstition
is rife in the theatre and so is the belief that some theatres are haunted.
Hollywood star Jack Lemmon claimed that his dressing room at London's Haymarket
Theatre is haunted. An apparition,
he said "has scared me to death. I've been in my dressing room alone
with the windows shut- and three times the door has opened and slammed when
there's nobody around. Something is watching you." Jack thought, "somebody
might be playing a practical joke on me, which is not a wise thing to do
for a guy of my age."
Staff of the Haymarket
believe that it is the ghost of former stage manager Buckstone that causes the problem. |

Sir Ralph Richardson
Believed in reincarnation. |
"The idea
seems quite logical to me," he said in an interview with the Spiritualist
newspaper Psychic News, "not that I think I might once have been an Egyptian
pharaoh, but the idea that man, or shall we say his spirit or mind, has at
one time or another in its existence inhabited some other form of body seems
sensible to me. I think of life as a great pool or reservoir.
We are taken
from this pool and given a body, not necessarily a human body, like a suit
of clothes to wear.
When we have used that body to the best of our ability
and it wears out, we die and for a time return to the pool of life until we
are given another 'suit of clothes'. |

Donald Campbell
Saw father's spirit |
|
Donald
Campbell, the former British car and speedboat racer, believed in Heaven. He spoke on a number of occasions of feeling the presence of his
dead father, Sir Malcolm Campbell, with him in the cockpit of his boats
and rocket cars.
As he sat in
the cockpit of the Bluebird and prepared to achieve his 648 kph (403 mph)
land-speed record on lake Eyre salt flats, Australia, he saw his father's
spirit. "He was crystal clear and looked down at me with the half-smile
on his face I knew so well" wrote Campbell.
Then he heard
the spirit say, "Well, boy, now you know how I felt on the morning
of September 2 at Utah in 1935" - the day when his father burst a
tyre at over 480 kph (300 mph). His father's voice encouraged Donald Campbell.
Like his father before him, Donald became holder of both the water and
land-speed records.

Arnold Palmer
Experienced an enhanced state of consciousness |
| He said that there
was "something spiritual, almost spectral", about some quizzes. "I'd
liken it to a sense of reverie- not a dreamlike state, but the somehow insulated
state of a great musician in a great performance." He played "with
an internal sense of rightness- it is not merely mechanical, it is not only
spiritual; it is something of both, on a different plane and a more remote
one." |

actor Bob Hoskins is reported to have had a psychic experience when he worked as a porter in London's Covent Garden. "I was down

Garden was once called 'Convent Garden' and was owned by the Benedictines
of Westminster' |

Donald
Sinden
Saw Famous Haymarket Ghost |
|
Donald
Sinden was appearing at the Haymarket in a play with Sir Ralph Richardson. Just before
Donald's curtain call a colleague knocked on his door to collect him."We
went down beyond Sir Ralph's dressing room and passed him on the stairs
dressed up in his period costume. we said good evening but he was obviously
wrapped up in his thoughts and did not reply."
At the bottom
of the stairs they saw the real Ralph Richardson on stage. They raced back
upstairs but the figure had gone. They had seen the ghost of

Marlon Brando
Experiences psychic attack |
In 1990
Marlon Brando's son Christian was involved in an incident which resulted in
a charge that he murdered Dag Drollet, the lover of Brando's daughter Cheyenne.
The American press speculated that Marlon Brando's friends feared he came
close to cracking "after he told them he was being haunted".
The
actor is said to have spoken of sheets mysteriously flying off his bed and "cold
ghostly lips" whispering "I should not have died" in his car.
The actor's former wife, Anna Kashfi, said he was convinced it was the ghost of Dag Drollet.
"It's
terrifying," Brando is said to have admitted. "I know it's Dag's angry
spirit."
Marlon
Brando is no stranger to psychic experiences. He once put the famous Dutch psychic Peter Hurkos to the test by
challenging him to tell him what lay in two sealed boxes. Of the first box Hurkos
said, "I see fire or an explosion on the sea. You have here a golden spike,
a nail from a ship." Of the second box, Hurkos said, "And in this
package you have a letter, and I'm sorry to tell you, sir, but the spelling
is lousy."
Hurkos
was right in both cases. The first box contained a golden spike from the ship
HMS Bounty and the second contained a letter with misspelled words. |

Ravi Shankar
Saw his past life |
|
When India's top sitar musician
Ravi Shankar had a glimpse of the past, he discovered that it was his own.
At the age of 2½, he started
to ask his parents for toys that were in "the house where I lived before".
At the age of six, Ravi began to tell his parents about a past life. He
claimed that he was murdered by two relations who wanted to prevent him
inheriting the family business. They decapitated him with a razor.
Lynn Picknett, a journalist, researched
the claims and discovered that a six-year-old boy had been murdered at
the address described, and in the way Ravi described, six months before
his birth. Picknett wrote, "The strangest coincidence of all was
that Ravi was born with a birth mark around his neck that looked just
like a razor slash." |
