may not be able to get into the chat rooms or the community. If your problem is not listed here

DO I GET A PASSWORD FOR THE PSYCHIC FAMILY COMMUNITY
Step
1. Go to the chatrooms and sign
up.
Step
2: When you choose your user name this will become
the name you will always use. It cannot be changed
later so make sure you get it right. You will
then be sent a password by email. Make
sure you click the link at the bottom of the email
to register. (If the link is broken then
copy paste it into your Browser address bar. This
will take you to the page that authorises your
password and allows you to log in.)
Step
3: If you are viewing a cached version of the
old page make sure you clear your cache or you
will not get back in once we initiate stage two
later today. (In Explorer TOOLS> OPTIONS >Delete
temporary Internet files.)
Step
4: Once you go through the new password log in
and sign as a free member you can log into the
normal chatroom box that you are familiar with.
Use the log on name that you have joined with.
The second area will also be having a special
customisation soon.
Step
5: Enjoy meeting your friends.

Possible
faults:
HELP! WHY
HAVEN'T I RECEIVED MY PASSWORD?
You
may have given an incorrect email address. If
you have given the right details you will get
TWO emails. The first will ask you to confirm
by clicking a link at the bottom of the email.
If you do not click the link, you will NOT get
your password. So long as you have given a correct
email address, you should get the email quickly
as it comes automatically from the server. If
for any reason you cannot click the link at the
bottom (If you are at work or if you have dated
email software) then copy paste the address line
at the bottom of the email and paste it into your
browsers address bar. Only once you visit the
log on page will you be able to go to the chatroom.
Solution: 1. try with another email
address- you can get a free
account on this site. 2. Failed registrations
will be cleared every seven days so try again
in a week.

CAN
MY BROWSER SETTINGS CAUSE A PROBLEM IN CHAT?
YES.
You must have Java enabled. The new Explorer
6 does not automatically have Java for chatrooms
etc. You can get a plug in from their site. (Service
pack 1) Also, Web Television does not run Java.
You must not have your browser set to high security
settings or have cookies switched off. This will
prevent you logging to the chatrooms at either
site (Delphi or Elysium) Firewall's can also be
a problem.

CAN
WINDOWS XP MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
YES
in that the Explorer 6 browser that comes
bundled with XP is not Java enabled. You will
need to update your browser from the Microsoft
site. At the time of writing you need Service
Pack 1. This adds java to your browser. Without
it all you get is a gray or blue box on the chat
page log in. Try Microsoft's
Windows Update Alternatively you can get Java
straight from Sun Click

ARE
THERE ANY USER NAMES I CANNOT USE?
Do
not add funny characters like * ^^ %+ and so on
as these may prevent you from joining. Do not
add any spaces to the name. For example fredbloggs
would be fine but fred bloggs will not work. The
space will mess up your registration. Do not use
hyphens, full stops or underscores. These will
also be lost. Also, single character names such
as a letter or a full stop will not be allowed
into the chatroom when stage two of the security
features are in place.

No.
The name you sign up with will be yours permanently.
Start using it straight away as you will be automatically
logged into the chatroom with this name in stage
two of our system upgrade.

SAYS 'NOT AUTHORISED'?
You
have not used the right user name and password
that was sent to you. Check your typing. Alternatively,
you may not have authorised the password by clicking
the link at the bottom of the email you were sent.
If the link is broken as it is too long then highlight
it and copy it (Hold down control and click C)
then past it into the address bar of Explorer
or Netscape. (To paste hold down control and press
V)

You
did not click the link on the first email or paste
it into your browser. You must go to the linked
page or the password will not be set.

DID NOT GET ANY EMAILS FROM YOU AFTER REGISTERING.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
You
probably gave a faulty email address. Try joining again. I clear all failed registrations about
once a week (sometimes sooner) so you can try
again in, say a week, if all else fails. Also check your SPAM folder. Accounts such as Hotmail and AOL have very high spam filters so it may have been filtered into your junk mail file. The email is sent by us immediately. It should reach you within a few minutes of joining.

WHAT
HAPPENS IF I AM BANNED?
A SysOp member may silence you or boot you from the chatrooms if
you cause trouble. If you have been booted you are but forward for permanent banning. It
is unlikely that this would be revoked. The page
will say "You are not authorised to be in
this area" (Note: This same message can occur when a person mistypes a password)

Solution
1 This is probably a Java problem with
your browser. (Get
Java from Sun Click
Here) Check
that you have the Java box ticked in your options
section of your browser. Web television does not
use Java and cannot use chatrooms. We suggest that you use EXPLORER and make sure your Java is
up to date. LINUX users may not be able to use the chatrooms.
Solution 2 Make sure you have Explorer
5 Netscape 6 or above. The chatroom supplier had
designed the chat applet for a recent version
of Java which will not work with earlier browsers.
Also the new version of Explorer 6 may need to
have a Java Plug-in the Microsoft site.
Solution 3 If you have been to the
chatroom before without problem you may have a
corrupt file or old page version in your cache.
First try 'Clear History' in your browser. If
that does not work go into 'My Computer' and find
the cache files for your browser and delete them.
We are not computer experts so if you are unsure
how to do this ask your computer supplier or IT
engineer.
Solution 4 I believe that some ISP's
such as AOL have their own cache on the server.
You may be reading an old page via the ISP. This
is usually refreshed within a few days. You may
find the problem corrects itself
Solution 5 You may have a slow connection
so give the chat applet (a sort of mini-programme
that runs with your browser) time to download.
Solution 6 I have encountered problems
myself when installing Explorer 5 over Explorer
4 when upgrading. It may knock out your ability
to read .cla and .class files. You would need
to ask an expert about this one. Likewise, faults
in windows can stop you reading applets. Again
ask an IT expert. Information can be found on
the Microsoft website.
Solution 7 Try turning off your
email programme such as Outlook Express when you
try to log in as this may be running too much
browser memory. It may result in you getting booted
out every time you do get logged in if you have
a slow connection.

HOW TO CLEAR YOUR CACHE
Sometimes corrupt pages can stop you accessing chatrooms. AOL are particularly problematic as they store pages for quick access and to save their bandwidth.
Solution: Go into Internet Explorer. Click Tools > Internet options > Look down to Browsing History > Click Delete
Then close explorer. Open it again. Go to:
