Donald
Sinden was appearing at the Haymarket in a play with Sir Ralph Richardson.
Donald Sinden
Just before
Donald's curtain call a colleague knocked on his door to collect him."We
went down beyond Sir Ralph's dressing room and passed him on the stairs
dressed up in his period costume. we said good evening but he was obviously
wrapped up in his thoughts and did not reply."
At the bottom
of the stairs they saw the real Ralph Richardson on stage. They raced back
upstairs but the figure had gone. They had seen the ghost
of
Buckstone who managed the theatre in the 1860's
Donald Sinden
said of the encounter, "That experience certainly made me open-minded
about psychic happenings."
