What is an OUT OF BODY EXPERIENCE AND ASTRAL TRAVEL?
An out-of-body experience (OBE or sometimes OOBE) is an experience a person may have in which they feel that they are floating outside of the body. This is sometimes called Astral Travel or Astral Projection. Seeing one's physical body from a place outside one's body is called autoscopy. Surveys have shown that one in ten people claim to have had an out-of-body experience at some time in their lives. Some astral projectors and Spiritualists claim they can see a silver cord linking their astral form to their physical body.
OUT OF BODY NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCES (NDE)
Advances in medical technology
have enabled doctors to resuscitate patients that would otherwise
have died, and some of them report very strange stories indeed.
Although for a short time clinically brain-dead, these patients
have described seeing the operating theatre's proceedings from
a vantage point on the ceiling. They travel out of their bodies!
Some of the most interesting studies
were of blind patients who correctly reported the colours and
designs of the clothes worn by their surgeons. Some were even
able to give the exact readings on the anaesthetists' machinery.
In dreams it is possible to do the
same without any danger to our health. Psychics call this 'astral traveling' and in the East it has been known for centuries as
'Cloud Walking'. The American Indians believed the same.
Psychics believe that all have
a duplicate etheric body (The Astral Body) . This is an exact copy of our physical
body and survives death. When we sleep this astral duplicate sometimes
goes on night jaunts. Using simple techniques it is possible to
release yourself from the physical and really fly in your dreams.
Craig's Q&A's
A LETTER FROM BEYOND
Early one morning I was reading in bed. I lay the book down to rest my eyes when suddenly I was transported to another place. I was in an empty room that contained only a mantelpiece with an envelope on it. I walked towards it but realised I was now flying down a dark tunnel with my legs straight and my arms by my side. At the same time I could see my other self in and bed saying "What are you doing?"
At the bottom of the tunnel stood a short plump figure wearing a long white robe. He talked to me about the afterlife and of the lessons that I must learn from this life. I 'came back' with a jerk. It was as if my body had been given an electric shock. Although I was scared, I realised immediately that I had just had an out of body experience and when I reflected about what I had been told it contained a great deal of inspiring guidance.

The letter on the mantelpiece symbolised that you were about to be given a message. At first you may have slipped into a lucid dream which then developed into a classic out of body experience. The jerking of the body and electric shock are often reported by people when they return to the physical body too quickly.
