The Psychic Experiences of
Lee Liberace

Ghost of LiberaceLike the pianist Liberace. Most entertainers are creative, extrovert and sensitive - the same personality traits that paranormal researchers tell us makes a good psychic. So it's no wonder that the superstars of the creative professions have paranormal tales to tell that are stranger than Hollywood fiction.

Some claim to know the future, are in touch with the dead and even posses the power of spiritual healing. For example, pop megastar Michael Jackson claims that he inwardly communicates with the flamboyant, pianist Lee Liberace who died in 1987

"I have my own secret room, with a moving wall and mirrors" said Jackson, "that's where I talk to Lee. His is the voice I hear in there. I feel his presence so very close to me."

He added that Liberace "is like my guardian angel. He's even given me permission to record his theme song 'I'll Be seeing You'."

Liberace also believed that at times he was paranormal inspired. He owned the piano which once belonged to the classical composer Liszt. "When I play his compositions on it I have the most eerie feeling, as if I'd played that music before in another time." And just like Liberace, Lizst was a flamboyant dresser.

Liberace had three close shaves before his final demise in 1987. A Roman Catholic by birth, he was once saved by a mysterious nun, whose identity still remains a mystery.

On one occasion he was so ill that the last rites were given. He started to give away his money to his friends. Then in "the midst of this orgy of giving, a nun I'd never seen before came into my room, sat next to my bed and said softly; 'St Anthony has performed many miracles. Pray to him."

Liberace started to recover quickly. "Doctors smiled, feeling their work had finally begun to take effect. I'm willing to believe that. But I also have to believe what the sister had said and what happened as a result of it."

Liberace tried to trace the nun. None recognised the nun from his descriptions or recalled her entering or leaving his room. Later, Liberace discovered that St Anthony was regarded as the 'doctor of the church' and was credited with many miracles.

Liberace also had healing powers himself. "Why, the other day, in the Hollywood Bowl two cripples arose and walked at my command. I said to them. 'If you really want to walk for me, you can!' So they did."

"I have never professed to be a faith healer but the incidents referred to actually happened."

THE GHOST OF LIBERACE

Liberace's Ghost is claimed to now haunt a restaurant in Vegas called Carluccio's Tivoli Gardens. It is a few blocks off the Strip.

Liberace owned the restaurant and to this day it still retains Liberace's private lounge that is attached to the dining room. This would allow Liberace to slip in and man the piano to the surprise and delight of unsuspecting diners.

The Spirit of Liberace certainly fills the place and so too does his ghost say some diners. Carluccio's Restaurant is as flamboyant as Liberace himself with its glitzy all-mirror-and-plastic-flower interior. There are the continued reports of sightings of Liberace's ghost with paranormal happenings such as electrical surges. One of the spookiest occurrences happens in the ladies toilets where it is reported that the doors lock and unlock themselves.
