Here you will meet spiritually minded visitors and lots of psychic and mediumistic volunteers who give their time for free to help with our online education programme, discussions, psychic demonstrations and psychic development circles.

The meanings of the S+ etc hats.

Hi and welcome to our page that explains who’s who on the site. You will notice that some usernames are prefixed by a ‘hat’. Apart from the M+ (which means paying site member) these are our MODERATORS. Below is a list of their roles in the Psychic family.

MONITORS & +PREFIXES

M+ (Paying Member)
Role: An M+ has no authority in the site. They have access to the members area. M+ are learners but are permitted to practice their readings when a R+ H+ or T+ is on site.

COMMUNITY 'POLICE'

F+ (Forum Monitor)
Role: To initiate forum discussions and monitor flagged comments in the forums and dating areas.

Guidelines for F+: Forum monitors may delete flagged posts on the forums or the dating areas. They may remove spammers and blatant adverting messages, libelous and hate messages or posts that are off topic. They may not remove a post simply because they disagree with the content. As with our teaching monitors they must keep a NPOV – Neutral Point Of View.

S+ (SysOp – System Operator)
Role: To monitor chat. The S+ is a temp position while the person trains to become a H+ or T+.

Guidelines for S+: To maintain order in the chat rooms and to silence people who are deliberately disruptive. A S+ monitors behaviour on the site. They maintain etiquette.

A+ (Site Administrator)
Role: Has the roles of a F+ and S+ (see above) but also has access to site’s system

Guidelines: As well as forum and chat monitoring the Administrators have access to the calendars and other high level systems on the site.

COMMUNITY READERS & EDUCATORS

As well as people here to help keep discipline we also have others who are here to share ideas and run classes and circles in the private areas. We ask all exponents – including both visitors and our teaching volunteers - to keep a neutral point of view and not to state opinion as fact. The views of the R+ H+ and T+ are not necessarily the views of the owners of this website.

R+ (Permitted Readers)
Role: These visitors are permitted readers may give readings in the appropriate rooms  unsupervised.

Guidelines: R+ are permitted to give readings on the site unsupervised and may

H+ (Site Host)

Role: The hosts host debates and events they initiate discussions and host entertainment events for our visitors. H+ may supervise readings.

Guidelines: The H+ keep the rooms lively and interesting by initiating informal discussions in the public rooms. They also run quizzes and entertainment based events in the members areas and occasionally in the public areas. (These have to be approved in advance by Craig) When on site the H+ will normally move to a discussion room to initiate and encourage debate. (Note: Debates and discussions are not teaching events. i.e. they are for sharing OPINIONS.)

Most, but not all, H+ have psychic ability and some are permitted to read on the site. The H+ is retained so long as they are running a regular event. 

Admin: An H+ has authority over the S+ and may ask a S+ to silence a disruptive person or ask an A+ to initiate an infraction.

T+ (Site Teacher)

Role: The teachers are people who have a high level of expertise. Most are healers, psychics or mediums and have a good intellectual and working knowledge of spiritual gifts. The T+ run classes and psychic development circles.

Guidelines: A T+ runs classes and is respected for their knowledge and abilities. However by being is such a high position of authority we ask that they pay particular attention to the NPOV rule in discussions.

BL+ (Beloved Leader)
Role: As site owner I am the only one with this prefix

Guidelines: All monitors are directly responsible to me. I appoint all monitors usually after consultation with other helpers on the site. All classes and have to be approved by me in the staff area of the site.

About using the chat room and getting or giving readings

Delphi Psychic Chat is the free area where you can make spiritual friends, share your feelings and experiences and enjoy our psychic and mediumistic demonstrations. If you enjoy our community you can upgrade for a very small fee per week to join the members' area we call Elysium.

Who can read in the chat rooms?

Only paying M+ members may read because they are training in the Elysium Psychic School area of the website. Some members are permitted to practice in the public areas. Remember that they are learners and may make mistakes. We do not allow predictions or making medical diagnosis because it is against uk law. Anyone giving or receiving readings in the chat rooms does so at their own risk and we take no responsibility whatsoever for any actions you may take as a result of the readings. The reading rooms are closed if no monitors are online.

Who may have readings?

You have to be 18 or over to join the rooms. This is an entertainment website. We expect reasonable behaviour with no bad language, bullying or flaming. Offenders will be either booted (one hour) or, in most instances permanently banned from the chatroom. We do not allow advertising other websites, soliciting for readings or posting URLS, email addresses or MSN details.  This chatroom is not suitable for people with suicidal tendencies, clinical depression, schizophrenia or similar problems. No dating in the chat areas please. In the community you have a special dating system for those interested in finding a spiritual partner.

What topics can we discuss in the rooms?

You may discuss any subject you wish but may be asked to stop if our monitors feel that it may be upsetting or frightening. Please do not enter these rooms if you feel you may be upset by the topics likely to be discussed.

Can we share and discuss our problems?

Share problems friend-to-friend and sympathise with one another but do not play at being a counseling expert. If you feel suicidal or have desperate problems we suggest you consider these help websites.

What happens in the classes?

Teachings take place in the members’ areas called Elysium. Our volunteer teachers have been through a rigorous selection process and are the only people on site permitted to run formal teaching sessions. We try very hard to dispel many of the misconceptions associated with our genre so do not allow spontaneous formal teaching in the free areas. You may share your ideas, knowledge and discuss topics of course but please do not play guru or you will be silenced or removed. If you would like to express your ideas in a detailed way then please use your free blog that you can activate from your profile page..

What are the S+ & T+ 'hats'?

Our site monitors' usernames are prefixed by S+ T+ etc. They are here to help maintain a friendly and relaxed environment. If visitors disrupt this atmosphere, not necessarily out of malice but perhaps due to lack of understanding, then the monitor may ask a visitor to change the conversation or perhaps to desist from making negative or alarming remarks. If the visitor ignores the request the monitor will silence them ( which means they can't speak in the room) or invite them to an empty room to clarify things. If the visitor persists in being disruptive they are ejected and a permanent ban is likely to be put in place. By having a policy to deal with disharmony in the rooms we can uphold our principle of peace.
What are the R+ 'hats'

Visitors with R+ before their names are SITE PERMITTED READERS. We are happy with the way in which they conduct their readings and are happy to permit them to read. It should be pointed out, however, that  R+ are not employed by the Site and the Site cannot, therefore, accept responsibility for these readings. While stressing the fact that R+ are volunteers, it must be noted  that some are just starting out on their mediumistic journey while others have been working as mediums for many years. All readings are free but given at the discretion of the R+ and we ask that their volunteer status will always be given due consideration.

FORUMS & MESSAGE BOARD POLICY

These guidelines can help both the visitor and trainee F+ who need an overview of the ethos of our forums.

What is a forum?

The Forum was the public space in the middle of a Roman city. The modern definition for a forum is “a public meeting or assembly for open discussion". A forum is where all views are aired including what some may consider to be incorrect.

.What is the right answer to a question posted?

There is no right answer. Forums are NOT FAQ pages. (Frequently asked question pages) A FAQ page is where an expert answers a question. Forums will include OPINIONS. Opinion is not fact so if you see an opinion you believed to be flawed please feel free to argue your point. In this way people will get to know the truth and why Spiritualism for example is founded not on beliefs and fantasy but on solid evidence for the continuation of life.

What about strange ideas. Should these be flagged?

There is so much misinformation being peddled by Television programs such as Most Haunted and the like that it is common for people to want to ask about things such as possession, evil spirits and so on. This is the place to ask but remember that people replying here are voicing their OPINIONS. There are also lost of pages on this site with in-depth articles and Psychic Help FAQS from some of our Spiritualist helpers who are also tutors at the Arthur Findlay College. We also have online classes that will help you to recognise myths and misconceptions about the spiritual world.

We allow talk about most topics in the forums but will close or delete threads that are outside of this site's genre. If there's an article about it on the site then it is within our genre. Off topic posts would be people trying to side track debate to their sales message. Skeptics are also welcome though we have a special section on the forums for skeptical debate for topics such as 'cold readings' the 'Barnum Effect' and so on. We also have a section for people with religious objections to mediumship.

I have written some guidelines for chat room discussion and the same page serves well for forum topics that are a little tricky:

Can we share and discuss our problems?

We allow dream interpretations on the forums but generally discourage requests for personal readings that require a clairvoyant insight. This is because we cannot guarantee that the person answering has genuine abilities and we would not like you to be misled or frightened by the answers you receive. You can of course get a phone reading with a genuine psychic from this site. We also permit some visitors to give readings in the chat area but these people do not work for us. If you feel suicidal or have desperate problems we suggest you consider these help websites.

What about medical diagnosis and healing?

We allow people to offer absent healing prayers and thoughts but we do not allow people to make claims of being able to cure cancer and so on. Similarly we do not allow intuitive or clairvoyant diagnosis via the forums or chat rooms nor will we allow people to offer herbs or spells to cure illness. Similarly, we do not allow psychiatric diagnosis and recommendations for cures (though visitors are welcome to post links to organisations such as MIND and the SAMARITANS etc.) We have similar rules in the Chat Area of this site.

Can we teach via the forums?

Forums are the place to air OPINIONS. Opinions are not facts so it is not the place to teach. Please use our Blogs if you would like to present your thoughts in a structured way. In the forums please feel free to air you thoughts and ideas but we do discourage people on an ego trip or who play guru.

What are the F+ 'hats'

Visitors with F+ before their names are FORUM MONITORS. The F+ are some of the most important people on the site as they keep the forums alive and vibrant. The F+ will attend to flagged posts but also initiate discussions and debates.

Suggestions for chat room discussion with advice about topics that may require caution

These guidelines are for site S+ volunteers and visitors. We encourage discussion, questions and debate about most paranormal and spiritual subjects. This list advises you where caution may be needed with some topics. We feel that we can discuss just about any topic openly and calmly

This is an adult chat room so most topics are acceptable except of course discussion that may defame people or incite hate or racism. We do not allow the posting of web addresses or discussion of our competitors, other chat rooms, personal reading advertising or other online communities.

GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR DISCUSSIONS: This is foremost an adult site 18 + and it states that on the site we should act as such and enter into discussions with this in mind. Discussion in a adult fashion includes: no intolerance, no argument for the sake of argument and no deliberately causing upset and so on. It doesn't really matter what the topic is, the way it's discussed is really the key to a successful and interesting online experience.

When in discussions please do not state opinions as fact.
Monitors are asked to take a Neutral Point Of View during discussions

If you are interested in leading discussions, have expert knowledge or are a psychic medium then why not ask our S+ about joining our team and run your own regular classes.

ASTROLOGY: There is a lot of discussion on site in the chat rooms but I am told very little actual knowledge. Are you an astrologer? If you have an extensive knowledge of the subtleties of astrology then please drop in and inspire our visitors.

CRYSTAL & INDIGO CHILDREN: Are more children being born with adhd or add or autism or is there simply more awareness and better diagnostic tools available? Some people believe that science has it wrong and that these children have supernormal powers. A crackpot idea or is there evidence to support this view? Discuss with care.

CURSES: The occasional person comes in to the rooms and claims that they are cursed.  Perhaps the discussion needs to be widened? Consider talking about creating your own belief system and not allowing it to affect your reality.

EARTHBOUND SPIRITS - Well where are they going to get stuck or lost? Yes lets discuss this.  It generates a lot of discussion around the nature of the spirit world and people perceptions, misconceptions and beliefs. We get a lot of talk about haunting and the difference between a ghost and spirit.

EVIL SPIRITS & POSSESSION - you may ask questions about this topic but this is most certainly a topic that is surrounded by many myths and misconceptions. There are a number of articles on the site about this and some of our S+ and T+ are knowledgeable of this topic. You may be asked to desist from the topic if the monitors feel that the discussion is upsetting people. Please avoid this topic if a S+ or T+ is not in the room.

LSD EXPERIENCES: Are psychedelic drugs hallucinogenic or do they give the taker insight into alternative realities. You may discuss these ideas but clearly we would not like visitors to encourage people to take drugs of break the law.

OUIJA BOARDS - You are welcome to ask questions and state your views but there are many misconceptions about this topic. There are articles on the site about the use and misuse of ouija boards. Discussions are perhaps best widened to include tools used for psychic or medium work, planchettes , tarot and other divination tools. (including perhaps some of the odder divination techniques such as entrails reading!)

PREDICTIONS & PROPHECY - Can the future be predicted? Is there such as things as free will or is it just an illusion? Was Nostradamus a seer or do we just make his predictions fit the facts? Has someone made a prediction for you and it has come true? Can we take personal responsibility for our lives or is it all in the hands of a higher destiny? Does karma and what we've done in past lives determine what happens to us now and in the future? We ask the visiting readers not to make predictions in their readings as this may upset people. However we encourage discussion about fate and prediction.

POLTERGEISTS: What are poltergeists? Are they simply an energy that surrounds children, teens and adults who are highly agitated or anxious. you may talk about these subjects but do not be mislead by fantasy programs such as Most Haunted - many of our S+ and T+ have made a serious scientific study of this type of phenomena. They will help you separate fact from fantasy.

RELIGION - We allow discussion about all religions but discourage intolerance. Please feel free to discuss God and Divinity but respect other people's beliefs. Many visitors are Spiritualists but this site is not a Spiritualist site or a member of the Spiritualists National Union (SNU) We also allow discussion of atheism which we feel comes under the heading of religion as it is a belief system. Devil worship I guess can be discussed but the general consensus is that most of what we hear is just fantasy - you've may have watched too many movies or met the wrong minister. Again why not widen the debate: have you thought about discussing the history of the bible, the editing by Constantine, whether Jesus went to India, the Gnostic Texts, the Dead Sea Scrolls etc. If you are well read and interested in history then please share your knowledge in a discussion. This chat area is called Delphi - would you like to discuss the Greek ideas and maybe Greek Mythology.

SCIENCE & PARAPSYCHOLOGY : We encourage scientific discussion so long as it remains on topic - i.e. has a spiritual slant. For example we have already had many interesting discussions about Quantum Physics and String theory as well as raising questions about the nature of consciousness and the Self.

SCEPTICISM - People are welcome to take a skeptical stance and we encourage open minded discussion. However we discourage people with what we consider to be extremist beliefs such as radical skepticism and extreme reductionalist materialist views. We discourage intolerance. As for skepticism, some of our volunteers and monitors advise that if you are well grounded and established in your understanding of the reality of the spirit then you are able to let that personal proof and conviction stand up to scrutiny

SEX & TANTRA - Sex is a natural part of life and people sometimes ask questions such as 'Is there sex in the afterlife' and 'What do my sexual dreams mean' and so on. Some are also interested in Tantric yoga. We allow talk about sex but I leave it to the discretion of the monitors if they feel that the conversation needs to be lifted to a more spiritual level. Naturally we do not allow vulgarity in the rooms. The chatrooms may not be used for dating.

SOUL MATES AND TWIN SOULS: Do we all have a soul mate? Perhaps we have known one another in past lives or have a karmic debt to work out together? Soul mates makes for a fascinating and engaging topic for discussion.

SPIRIT ANIMALS/GUIDES/TOTEMS  What do you believe? Perhaps certain animal essences can be associated with people i.e. the traits of the animal and that psychics pick up on that and this is why they sometimes will say that the person has an animal guide/spirit animal or totem.  Naturally the most popular animals re hawks, eagles, wolves, tigers, big cats, the occasional bear...its never the little creatures like cockroaches. Makes an interesting topic for debate.

VOODOO or VUDOO - (two different spelling depending on the region) Yes you can talk about these topics too and we will not boot you for your beliefs. We have had some intriguing discussions about this - perhaps you'd like to share your ideas?

WITCHCRAFT - Talk about witchcraft and Wicca is permitted. There is however a lot of misconceptions about this topic and it is perhaps best to have these discussions while an informed S+ or T+ volunteer is present. We do not allow curses or spell casting. (Most of our members believe that spells are just a way to focus intent rather like meditation)

YOGA & MEDITATION - Are you a yoga teacher? maybe you'd like to share your knowledge about the health, mental and spiritual benefits of yoga? Some mediums use a form of Kriya to open their chakras and connect to the lokas. Maybe you can suggest ways people can use these methods to improve their spiritual abilities or adapt the Yama and Niyama to mediumship. Again you may want to widen the discussion to include the many eastern disciplines such as yoga , meditation and the similarities with Western ideas such as Kabbalah, New Age beliefs, Shamanism and so on. If you have teaching ability then please consider joining our online volunteer teaching team that offer weekly or monthly online classes.

What's not allowed:

You may not advertise your own psychic services, commercial websites, MSN & email addresses or other communities.
You may not give or offer personal psychic readings via your blog, profile or in the forums.

Why not make this the theme of your Blog. Perhaps you've had some extraordinary spiritual experiences and would like to share your encounters with others. Maybe you've met some extraordinary people and can tell us about them. Maybe you've encountered a real ghost, seen physical mediumship, experimented with the ouija board or witnessed something extraordinary. Your Spiritual Diary

I keep a spiritual diary and notebook of messages I've been given from spirit during my circles or messages given to me by mediums. It is very useful and I can check information I've been given or see if a prediction can come true. In the same book I note down sayings and ideas that inspire me. Why not do the same? Set up an online spiritual diary and share your inspiration with others. You could use your spiritual diary blog to keep a record of the readings you've had with either the phone readers or in the chat rooms.

Chatroom News

If you are in the chat rooms a lot you may like to report some of the goings on. For example how about setting up a gossip column as your blog? What's happening on site, what's hot and what's not. So long as your blog is not hurtful to others we are pretty open minded about these things.

Your Philosophy of Life

Why not simply talk about what interests you and how it has changed your life. Perhaps you are a healer who would like to share their experiences and techniques. Perhaps you are a Spiritualist and would like to publish articles about how you think things can be changed or moved forward. Or maybe you are interested in UFOS, or supernatural topics. Set up your blog and tell us about your ideas.
